FAQs for Parents
Class Compass is a searchable database for finding online classes tailored to your child's needs. It offers advanced search filters such as ADHD or autistic-friendly classes, as well as secular or Christian options. These classes include live sessions, flexible asynchronous classes, 1:1 tutoring, and even options for adults or families.
Class Compass connects you with independent teachers who manage their own content, sites, and hiring. They undergo their own vetting and training process.
Teachers listed on Class Compass verify their credentials and undergo background checks. Many have extensive experience in online teaching and education.
Each teacher manages their own payment processing. There's no fee to use Class Compass; teachers pay subscriptions rather than a percentage of earnings, allowing them to keep most profits and easily connect with students.
Upon enrollment, each teacher provides a link or student dashboard for logging in.
Classes range from academic subjects to social activities, skill-building, and arts. Options include coding, history, escape rooms, book clubs, and more.
Some teachers may be ESA certified in certain states. Contact the teacher of an eligible class to inquire about meeting your state's ESA requirements.
Class Compass supports individual teachers, allowing them to maintain control over their content and keep most of their earnings. It empowers them to run independent businesses.
Students need a device with Zoom installed, such as a laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone. Chromebooks may not be as compatible with live online classes.
Teachers specify any additional materials required for their classes.
